We call on the Prime Minister and Transport Minister to fix Hammersmith Bridge urgently.

We are signing this petition to ask for:

• An urgent temporary walking and cycling bridge to enable people to cross the river
• Full funding for the restoration of Hammersmith Suspension Bridge

Hammersmith Bridge is an essential transport route for South West London. Repairs have started but it was closed for walking, cycling and boats going underneath on August 13^th.  Bus journeys are now up to an extra hour to Roehampton and thousands of additional vehicles are going through Putney High Street causing traffic jams and pollution. We are cut off from hospitals, schools and work.

Before the election, the Transport Minister promised that he would fund the repairs to the bridge. Since then the cracks have got worse and funding is needed more urgently.
