Why I’m Opposing Heathrow Expansion

I am proud to stand with residents opposing a third runway at Heathrow.

The case for expansion simply does not stack up.

The environmental costs are enormous. Communities would face more noise, more pollution and greater pressure on local services. Expansion would also move us further away from the climate commitments we must meet for future generations.

In Parliament, I have warned that Heathrow expansion risks damaging communities across London and becoming one of the defining environmental battles of our time.

I believe we can support jobs, connectivity and economic growth without imposing these costs on local people.

That’s why I will continue to oppose Heathrow expansion and stand up for residents affected by its impacts.
