It was great to meet with Seb Dance, the Deputy Mayor for Transport, to discuss Hammersmith Bridge, Putney High Street and traffic congestion across the constituency.

I am encouraged to see that Hammersmith and Fulham Council will be beginning stabilisation work on Hammersmith Bridge in the coming weeks. That will mean that cyclists and e-scooter users will no longer have access over the main carriageway. Instead they will have to dismount and share the footways with pedestrians whilst the work is completed.

I was disappointed to see that there was still no move from the Government to fund the full restoration of the bridge in the latest settlement with TfL. Hammersmith and Fulham Council are doing all they can to move the process along, but only the Government can fund the full restoration of the bridge.
