Join me in calling for the Urgent Care Centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital to be reopened urgently.

The Urgent Care Centre serves over 16,000 local residents annually. Since its closure residents are directed to other facilities including Kingston Hospital and Teddington Walk-in centres. For those needing medical assistance this is an unacceptable journey taking up to an hour on public transport. For the very young and those unable to use public transport it can be an impossible journey.

Additionally, the closure is placing additional pressure on already stretched local GP services. I am also very worried about the lower diagnosis rates of people with cancer.

I have met with the Chief Executive of the Hospital Trust, Jacqueline Totterdell and raised these issues. I asked her to assure me that the centre would be reopening as soon as it is safe to do so but she has not confirmed when it will reopening, if at all.

Please sign the petition below to ask Jacqueline Totterdell and health Commissioners to reopen the Urgent Care Centre as soon as it is safe to do so and in line with other hospitals in England.

The permanent loss of this service would be a gap in local healthcare and a devastating blow to local residents.
